S26 ATH Runway Works – Voluntary Cancellations

Further to the HSCA’s previous communication regarding the runway works at Athens International Airport (ATH) for the period 17–22 September, during which the airport will be designated as coordinated, we would like to inform you that the first phase of the working procedure is currently underway.

Airlines are invited to submit voluntary slot cancellations between 03 February and 12 February for Summer season operations on the affected dates (17–22 September). Voluntary cancellations should be submitted via separate messages, clearly indicated in the SI field as “Voluntary Cancellations”.

Please note that voluntary cancellations will be taken into account and will count towards the total number of slots each airline may be required to cancel, should further reductions be necessary.

Upon completion of this first phase, an assessment will be carried out by time zone, taking into account the number of allocated slots held by each airline per hour, to determine whether additional slot cancellations or adjustments are required. Should mandatory slot cancellations or reallocations still be necessary, all affected airlines will be informed on 23 February of the number of slots to be cancelled per date and per time zone.

For your reference, the published working procedure outlining all phases of the process can be downloaded from ΕΔΩ.
